'Yes, dear?' by WaitingForTheWorms 'Yes, dear?' by WaitingForTheWorms
:w00t: Yay! Finally. :boogie: I found the Mantis. And to tell you the truth it scared the hell out of me at first. :lmao: I was stalking Monarch butterfly - surprised that it's still around at this time of year - hoping to get a shot of it sitting on Goldenrod. I kept my eye on it while slowly walking in its wake when suddenly something long and skinny flew past my face and landed on the ground few feet away. I thought it was a giant grasshopper so I went to check it out. :lmao: To my delight it was a Chinese Mantis. :excited: I would be a fool to let this kind of opportunity to escape, even for the most beautiful butterfly, so I aimed my camera at the critter and started shooting. After two or three shots the darn Mantis turned its head in my direction, looked me in the eye, and... :giggle:

;) No, it didn't say "Yes, dear?" but it looked like it could. :lmao:

They always look like they are convinced that you are edible...if only they were bigger.

Well that's pretty good! I just haven't been going outside enough I guess. Must get out and take more photos... It's all snowy still though; that's my excuse for now.
