Lady in red by WaitingForTheWorms Lady in red by WaitingForTheWorms
 The third Ladybug I encountered this year, when instead of packing for the trip I was traipsing around the fields. :lmao:

:O_o: I have no idea what's happening with all those critters around here but somehow they are a lot less visible than they ever were. I visited all my favorite spots from last year, usually full of butterflies, dragonflies, and other winged creatures, and sadly found them almost empty. :( I saw all of FOUR Ladybugs so far, ONE Monarch butterfly and TWO or THREE Swallowtails I didn't even have a chance to capture, and even Skippers are in a lot smaller numbers. Only Cabbage Whites are still abundant. :clueless: I wonder what's going on. :O_o:

Populations come and go. They are heavily dependent on weather. I wouldn't worry unless it continues this way for several years.

What a great close up of the ladybug. I think they are so cute. I agree with you. I have seen very few ladybugs as well as butterflies this year. I also have had fewer Hummingbirds come to the feeders this year. Not sure what is going on but I sure hope this trend is temporary.

Really nice shot! What I like about this, compared to others with the same bug it's the background that's so great. It's so simple that you really look at the red bug instead, and it brings out the red. Very nice.

This is a really cool shot you took. I love the colours and how the ladybug stands out.
It's so amazing that it can balance like that with it's tiny feet.

Has your weather gone thru a drastic change? Ours certainly has - we've had 37inches of rain this year! Average is about 19 inches for the whole year... Perhaps the wildlife have moved away for a bit because of climate changes...?

 You have to try. They are a lot easier than butterflies or dragonflies as they don't get off right away, but they are harder to find under leaves. :lmao:

 Thanks, Marit.  :aww:
